210114: Live My Mettle. This is the way.

“This is the way.” The creed for those Mandalorian following the orthodox code + ideals of their society. Simple. Clear. Encompassing.

Similar to the Mandalorian (apologies to the Star Wars Universe if you find my summation is lacking or if you are appalled by my suggestion that I am similar to this character) I personally hold myself to a simple creed. Well... simple-ish but not easy.

Every day my objective is to “Live My Mettle”. For me, that means to arrive in each moment, to meet each challenge + to hold space for each human with the best that I’ve got. It means living in + by my values not professing them. Integrity is my most important value... Defined as being honest, having strong principles + doing what’s right not what is most convenient or comfortable (especially when no one is looking).

This objective does not mean I do not fall short or make mistakes. My list of both are quite long. What it does mean is that I will try again, I am willing to begin again + I am willing to be uncomfortable for it. Live My Mettle is supported by a declarative list to focus + remind me of how I want to show up as a human being + human beings.
